The Resiliency Company, a nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing capital into resilient homes and infrastructure, today announced that over 20 building partners representing a pipeline into one third of homes lost across the Los Angeles region, are now striving towards building to an IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home standard. One year after the launch of the Resilient Delta Fund, this milestone reflects steady progress in bringing together major stakeholders from across the ecosystem. It also builds on The Resiliency Company’s deeper mission to make resilient rebuilding the default for communities facing repeat disaster risk, not just in Los Angeles, but across the country.
Cross-Sector Leaders Launch First Commercial Real Estate Playbook to Address Mounting Weather-Related Risks
Today, The Resiliency Company announced the launch of the From Vulnerability to Value: A Risk Mitigation Playbook to Drive Resilient Development (“CRE Playbook”), a first-of-its-kind framework designed to help building owners, developers, designers, contractors, investors and lenders manage climate-related risks with a strong, unified approach. The CRE Playbook has been developed through the convening of top cross-sector leaders including JLL, Ryan Companies and the Urban Land Institute, among others.

On June 24–25, The Resiliency Company will host a convening in Los Angeles to accelerate bold funding strategies that ensure fire-prone regions like LA can rebuild safer, stronger and more resilient. The two-day event, “Rebuilding with Resilience in LA,” follows the catastrophic LA wildfires in January, which devastated over 40,000 acres and caused billions of dollars in damages.
